A Review of Personal Informatics Research for People with Motor Disabilities

Personal informatics (PI) has become an area of significant research over the past decade, maturing into a sub-field that seeks to support people from many backgrounds and life contexts in collecting finding value their personal data. PI includes focus on with chronic conditions as monolithic group, but currently fails distinguish needs motor disabilities (MD). To understand how current literature addresses those needs, we conducted mapping review publications engaged MD. We report results 50 identified ACM DL, Pubmed, JMIR, SCOPUS, IEEE Xplore. Our analysis shows incompatibilities between individuals MD ways supports them. also found inconsistencies disability levels are reported, for excludes non-health-related data domains, insufficient tools' accessibility usability some users. In contrast Epstein et al.'s [36] recent review, behavior change habit awareness were most common motivation these publications. Finally, reviewed articles reported involvement by caregivers, trainers, healthcare providers, researchers across stages. addition insights, provide recommendations designing technology through user-centric lens will broaden scope include regardless abilities.
